Are You a Diabetic ?
Tips for the diabetic... and you
I have been aware for some time that my neighbor facing
my house is a diabetic. Yesterday I also discovered that
both my neighbors on either side of me were also
diabetics. One was actually in a diabetic coma after her
glucose readings shot up close to 500. My other neighbor
had hers go as far as 600, surprisingly, she avoided a
coma. They both lacked the knowledge necessary to combat
this potentially deadly disease, and they both asked me
to help them. One of my neighbors confessed that she
never changed the way she ate, and continues to eat what
she wants.
As a type2 diabetic who was diagnosed less than four
years ago, I have chosen to take charge of my health,
and to encourage others to do the same. The resulting
passion from all this have led me to start a blog
describing My Journey With Diabetes Type2 which I invite

The following are some tips that I have used and hope
you will find helpful, whether or not you are diabetic.
Being pro-active is by far superior to being reactive.
- Eliminate simple carbs, and substantially
reduce your complex carb intake. While our body need
complex carbs to function, it is helpful to the
diabetic to minimize our intake.
- Consume more natural foods and eliminate
processed foods as much as possible.
- Consume foods high in fiber. Example:
Instead of drinking orange juice, eat the orange
instead.
- Exercise about 45 minutes five day per
week if you can. Get creative.
- Last but not least, a good supplement is
essential, especially for the diabetic.
Diabetics are usually deficient in nutrients
necessary for pancreatic function and cell sensitivity.
Example: Diabetics tend to lose zinc in the urine. A
good liquid supplement is more effective because the
absorption is so not only faster, but also more complete
Personally, I have been controlling my diabetes with
diet and exercise primarily. I have been using some
supplements that have been effective, but have been
sporadic in using them because of the cost, but that is
about to change. I have recently ordered my first bottle
of Diatrex from Liquid Vitamin Stop. I was particularly
impressed with Pam who answered the phone the first time
I called. Then Bill who called in response to a message
from Pam. It is people like these who add credibility to
the internet..
